When I start up Windows in my VM, the network adapter initializes and works for about 30 seconds and then loses internet access.

I opened it and checked its network functionality. And the host has no networking problems.I really only use this one VM, but I have another plain vanilla windows 7 VM from a test project last summer. It feels like an hardware failure, but this is a virtual adapter. But within that last few weeks, the frequency has increased and now it only works for a few seconds at a time. But it gets an ip address in a different subnet and is unable to access my LAN, which is required.This VM has had connectivity issues in the past where I would need to disconnect/reconnect the network adapter occasionally. ![]() It just cannot ping beyond itself or the host. All variations behave the same.When the connectivity is lost, the ip configuration remains in tact. And I have configured the nic in windows with a static ip address. But I restart it anyway and the troubleshooter reports that it cannot fix the problem which is accessing the gateway.I haven't looked at the VM for about 12 hours and now just by restarting the virtual nic, it is keeping the connection. I have several other machines on the network operating just fine so it should not be the router. It thinks the router is the problem, asks to restart the router and continue with testing. ![]()
